Though we survive in the external world, what really enables us to live is conquering our own minds, being the navigators of our souls, and showing the world that we are more than its product, more than the challenges we are presented, greater than the bumps in the road, and more than ready for the opportunities it has to offer us. Life is given, but living is a choice. We can merely exist or truly be. We can resist or embrace, love or let go. Conquering our minds means enabling ourselves to choose, and acknowledging that it is okay to make a choice—to pick one thing over another. To choose life over death, hope over despair, laughter over tears, and spark over ember.
